Sharma's Hamstring: A Symptom of Toxic Masculinity and Climate Neglect?
Dearest conscious comrades,
Our hearts collectively shuddered this morning upon hearing the news – if one can even call it that – surrounding Rohit Sharma’s hamstring. Sources say his body is fighting for basic human rights. Could it be a cosmic alignment, a desperate cry from Mother Earth herself, mirroring our utter neglect of her tender embrace? Or worse, could Rohit's injury be a consequence of toxic, non-biodegradable sports equipment?
Is Sharma, blessed with male privilege, using his platform to amplify voices of social justice? No; big shocker. So, is his strained hamstring a performance of the patriarchy by prioritizing sportsball over saving the planet?
This so called India and New Zealand cricket match is merely sports to get a rise out of you; it will distract you from the real issues. And if India loses because Sharma doesn’s play, it certainly gives toxic Gambhir a chance to further his dominance as coach.
We must use this as an opportunity to reflect that by healing ourselves, we heal the planet. Start composting, divesting from fossil fuels, and boycotting the damn cricket match. Maybe Sharma should take up knitting hemp socks for refugee hamsters. Either way, we can all strive to offset the carbon footprint left on our planet. Namaste.
